Who we are
Coolemur is an independent developer journal. For the processing described in this policy, Coolemur is the data controller. You can contact the publisher at coolemur@gmail.com.
Data we handle
When you browse
The site does not offer accounts, comments, purchases, or a newsletter. It does not run advertising or behavioural analytics. Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, timestamps, and security or error events.
When you contact us
If you send an email, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, name, message, and any attachments.
External resources
Pages request font files from Google Fonts. That request can disclose technical information, including your IP address and browser details, to Google. Following a link to GitHub or any other external site takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.
Why we use it
- To deliver, operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.
- To prevent abuse and protect the journal and its visitors.
- To read and respond to messages you choose to send.
- To meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims where necessary.
Where EU or UK data protection law applies, these activities rely on legitimate interests in operating and protecting the site, your consent or steps taken at your request when you contact us, and legal obligations where applicable.
Service providers
The site is hosted on a privately managed Mintnook VPS. Its web server processes technical request data needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the journal. Font files are served by Google; read the Google Fonts privacy information.
These providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where required, they are responsible for using recognised safeguards for international transfers as described in their notices.
How long data stays
Technical data is kept only for as long as needed for delivery, security, troubleshooting, and applicable legal requirements and the server's configured retention rules. Email correspondence is kept only while it remains useful for the conversation, records, or a related legal obligation, then deleted or anonymised when reasonably possible.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.
To exercise a right, email coolemur@gmail.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. The European Data Protection Board directory lists authorities in the EEA.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated when the site's data practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Questions about privacy can be sent to coolemur@gmail.com.
